In white the Fiume is close to invisible against a pale wall, which is the point in a small bedroom where the wall above the bed is already carrying a headboard, a shelf and a picture. Bend it once to the reading position and it stops being an object.
Three watts at 3000K is enough for print and not enough to light the room, and the switch sits on the body so nothing has to be wired into the wall plate.
