A metal dome on a short stem, closed on top and open underneath, so none of the light goes up and all of it lands on the table. The shape is old — it has been in restaurants for fifty years — and it works because a lit circle on a surface is more flattering than a lit room.

Fungo is cordless and touch-controlled: one tap for on, hold to dim, tap through three colour temperatures. In matte black the dome reads as a small dark sculpture by day and disappears entirely by night, leaving only the disc of light beneath it.
