Smoke glass at this size behaves almost like a dark bead on a wire. Switched off it is a small grey object; switched on the tint keeps the LED from glaring, which matters more on a small pendant than a large one because the source sits so close to the eye.

Use it where a clear shade would be too bright at head height — over a narrow console, beside a mirror, or in a low-ceilinged room where the fitting will be passed closely rather than admired from across the space.
