Monte is small — about the size of a large orange — and hangs on a fine cord, closer to a suspended point of light than to a light fitting. The hand-blown shade comes in three glasses. Clear makes it smaller still, because you see straight through it to the wall behind. Amber gives the warmth of a tinted shade at a size that will not dominate anything, putting a small honey-coloured spot on the ceiling and a warmer pool beneath. Smoke behaves almost like a dark bead on a wire; switched on, the tint keeps the LED from glaring at head height.

Its best use is in threes or fives at staggered heights over a table, where a single large pendant would sit heavily; mixing clear and amber in the same cluster reads as a deliberate composition rather than a set. It is also the right answer in a stairwell, where a fixture has to be seen from below, from the side and from the landing above without ever looking wrong.
