Tinted glass does something to light before it reaches the room. Velo comes in three hand-blown glasses. Amber takes the edge off a cool LED and lays down a pool the colour of weak tea — the warmest of the three, and the one that flatters a dining table most: skin, wood and brass all read better under it. Smoke grey hides the bulb behind a darker shade. Bottle green becomes the one colour in a pale kitchen.

Hung singly it becomes a reading light over an armchair. In a row of three above an island the pools overlap into a continuous band, and the shades themselves glow, which is half the reason to buy tinted glass rather than clear. Shade profiles A and B are offered in every glass; profile C in smoke grey.
