A single glass globe on a slender brushed brass stem. The brass is the whole argument here: against a pale plaster ceiling it reads as a thin gold line, and the warmth of the metal picks up the warmth of the bulb so the fixture never looks like hardware.
Hung low beside a bed it replaces the table lamp and gives the nightstand back. Over the end of a kitchen run, or in a small entry, it does the same job a wall light would, with less visual weight.
