Coffee sits between the amber and the smoke: a brown-bronze tint that lights warm like amber but reads dark and solid when it is off. It is the Riva that behaves most like a piece of furniture on the wall.

It works particularly well against walnut, tobacco leather or a clay-coloured wall, where a clear or grey shade would look like an afterthought and amber would be too sweet.
